What is Hijama Cupping?

Hijama Cupping Therapy (HCT), also known as wet cupping, is a natural detoxification practice that cleanses the body on a cellular level through the lymphatic system. Dry cupping is performed first, then tiny superficial incisions are made in the top layer of the skin to allow toxins and impurities to be released. HCT is a very safe treatment with minimal aftereffects.

How it works

After your consultation and intake review with our Certified Hijama Practitioner (CHP), the HCT process begins. Your CHP starts by applying oil to the skin and using a moving cupping technique, massaging the area with a suction cup. Suction cups are then applied to specific points on the body.

What to expect afterward

HCT can trigger a natural "healing crisis" as the body processes and releases. Common effects in the days after treatment include:

  • Increased energy — or temporary tiredness as the body detoxes
  • Better sleep quality and mood
  • Pain relief and increased mobility
  • Improved metabolism and digestion
  • Temporary skin breakouts or increased bowel movements
  • A general sense of improved well-being

Your practitioner will walk you through what to expect and how to support your body during recovery.
